Injustice 2 has not shown any sign of slowing down its hype train any time soon. The countless amount of character trailers and story teases have increased in recent weeks as the game’s release date inches closer by the day. Hot on the heels of The Flash‘s lightning-quick character trailer, NetherRealm Studios has put out another video explaining Injustice 2‘s Gear system, a feature which allows for numerous visual and skill-based character upgrades. See the footage for yourself below:

Using the Gear system, players are able to upgrade the statistics of any of Injustice 2‘s many fighters by just simply playing the game. After a battle is won, armor, weapons, and costume additions can be picked up and equipped to increase the character’s base statistics. Some upgrades simply strengthen a select region, while others compensate for boosts by decreasing stats from other areas.

As shown in the video above, the add-ons can also grant new abilities, with the added bonus of looking quite stylish. More detailed information can be read in our initial coverage of the Gear system we wrote last month. Also, be sure to stay tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers when the next playable character is revealed. Injustice 2 will arrive on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16.
