Injustice 2 Teases Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles With “Toasty” New Images
With other contenders recently taking over the fighting game space, NetherRealm Studios has been pretty silent with Injustice 2 teases as of late. This hasn’t been without good reason, of course, as the studio has been busy fine-tuning the next outstanding addition to their superhero fighting game: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
A thrilling reveal trailer is all we’ve seen of the foursome so far, appearing in a battle-ready brawl between other members of Fighter Pack 3, Atom and Enchantress. While the hype surrounding the fighters was great, players have since been wondering when the cowabunga crew will finally see a proper showing. According to a recent few screenshots posted by NetherRealm boss Ed Boon the time to expect a trailer might be sooner rather than later.

One Injustice 2 image features the first official look at gameplay featuring the mean green team. Black Manta, a formidable opponent in his own right, is seen about to receive a double dose of pain from the hands of Mikey and from Raphael of the Ninja Turtles. Or at least one of them is, as the other is leaping high above the foe, about to drop one shell of a skateboard attack. Boon attaches the word “Teamwork” to the fun image, suggesting the Turtles have more than a few maneuvers like this.
Another, more humorous image was also shared by Boon recently, keeping in line with his trend of one-word Injustice 2 teases. Captioned with the word “Caution”, the post depicts the red-masked member taking in the delicious aroma of pizza. As a fun nod to fellow NetherRealm property Mortal Kombat, the phrase “CAUTION: TOASTY!!!” can be seen clearly displayed alongside the pizza box.

With these two new Injustice 2 teases out on the interweb, it’s only a matter of time before before NetherRealm capitalizes on the hype they’ve so masterfully cultivated. When that day hits, the shell-shockers will join the likes of Atom and Enchantress as the final members of Fighter Pack 3. Injustice 2 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are expected to arrive sometime in February.
