Prepare to Amp Up Your Heroes of the Storm Game with Lucio’s Sick Beats (VIDEO)

If you are a fan of Blizzard games and don’t already know what Heroes of the Storm is, then you should definitely check it out. Culminating all the awesomeness that embodies the heroes and champions of various Blizzard games into one massively fun MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) is exactly what Heroes of the Storm is. Given the widespread success of Blizzard’s somewhat new first-person shooter (FPS), Overwatch, it should come as no surprise to see champions from Overwatch join this MOBA. The newest addition from the Overwatch crew has just been announced – prepare to amp up your game with the master of rhythm, the prince of funky, the boss of beats: Lucio himself!

Bringing his funktastic abilities to the field of battle, Lucio’s skillset looks pretty close to the same as in Overwatch but with a few tweaks. Starting out with movement, Lucio’s ‘Wall Ride’ ability give him a stackable 20 percent movement speed increase and he can pass through other units while moving along walls or other various forms of impassable terrain.  The ‘Soundwave’ ability deals damage to enemies in a cone while simultaneously pushing them backward, and of course ‘Crossfade’ allows Lucio to provide healing or a speed boost to allies within a measured radius. Of course, the ‘Amp it Up’ ability does just that, it increases the effects ‘Crossfade’ for a 3-second duration.

If you are wondering about Lucio’s ultimate ability and how it will be affected, don’t worry, Lucio will still be dropping the sickest beats on the field. The first choice, ‘Sound Barrier’, is the classic mass wave temporary shield that anyone who has played Overwatch is used to providing temporary protection for Lucio and his allies. The second option, however, as is customary for Heroes of the Storm, is a ‘Reverse Amp’ which causes the ‘Amp it Up’ ability to do the opposite of the ‘Crossfade.’ Now it will either damage or slow enemies rather than heal or speed up allies. Both of these ultimates seem very useful depending on your preferred ability build.

As Blizzard fans who love to keep it funky fresh, we are psyched to see Lucio join the Heroes of the Storm roster. What are your thoughts on the addition of the master of sonic support?
