Hideo Kojima Has A Cameo In Remedy's Control (VIDEO)

Hideo Kojima seems to be just about everywhere these days. Earlier this month, the legendary game director and father of Metal Gear made an appearance at Gamescom 2019 to promote his latest title, Death Stranding. Not one to be tied down to just one hot new video game, it has been revealed that Kojima-san also had a hand in Remedy’s Control, this time as a subtle cameo.

The news comes by way of YouTuber dragondarkPSN, who recently uploaded a video that features the game’s protagonist visiting the Parapsychology part of the Central Research building that opens up during the Old Boys’ Club main story missions. Once there, the player can pick up a collectible that launches the Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience mission. From there the mission begins in earnest, with Hideo Kojima providing the voice of the titular Dr. Yoshimi Tokui, translated by Kojima-san’s head of marketing at Kojima Productions, Aki Saito.

It is an interesting thing to listen to, made all the more special with the knowledge that it is Hideo Kojima himself guiding the player through his ‘Guided Imagery Experience,’ which just so happens to be a dressed up way of saying it’s a video game.

Remedy’s Control is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
