Halo And Mario Kart Combine In This Custom Edition Mod (VIDEO)
Halo has a long-standing history of molded gameplay since Halo: CE – not Halo: Combat Evolved, but its free-spirited sibling, Halo: Custom Edition. With this add-on from back in the day, players were able to find games featuring numerous delightful maps, game modes, and more, like playing full games of Paintball, wielding lightsabers, and all sorts of ridiculous shenanigans. Now players can even race around as they did in more simple days, where Mario Kart 64, Halo: CE, and other classic titles were still fresh and consumed many a gamer’s childhoods.
Released a year ago and recently seeing a resurgence on the Halo subreddit, a CE mod by InfernoPlus gives players the chance to ride around in miniature Warthogs as they race around multiple classic Mario Kart tracks. Alongside the mod, InfernoPlus also released a video showcasing all its workings, though he mentions that it isn’t perfect, with present code issues and various glitches such as disappearing vehicles and non-existent items.
Still, it appears to work decently well, allowing players to live out the experiences of playing through iconic Mario Kart 64 classic maps such as Moo Moo Farm, Koopa Troopa Beach, Sherbert Land, Wario Stadium, and Banshee Boardwalk, and more. It also includes multiplayer, two-person karting as featured in Mario Kart Double Dash, and even Halo-themed power-ups making for an entertaining experience nonetheless.
Fans can check out the mod for themselves by heading over to InfernoPlus’ Patreon where he shares all the details fans will need to know before downloading. Of course, the most important thing is that fans will need to have Halo: Custom Edition, the modded version of Halo: Combat Evolved, before being able to anything.
