Half-Life VR Could Be On The Way (VIDEO)
Valve revealed their very own VR headset earlier this year called the Valve Index. The company also has plans to bring some VR games to the world as well, and naturally, there are a few titles that fans are hoping to see arrive with the device. Rumors that arrived back in November hinted at the possibility of a Half-Life VR title arriving amidst two other VR projects, however there’s been no real mention of anything as of yet.
Pre-orders for the Index went live earlier this year through the Steam store and while fans had suspected that there may be an announcement for Half-Life VR, we’ve never received confirmation. Still, back in March, an update for DOTA 2 revealed references to “hlvr” as well as a shotgun. The game files of Vale properties are known to hold references to other titles and as the DOTA 2 references are for what appears to be Half-Life VR they could also back up the claims that a new title is on the way.
Unfortunately, there’s still been no word from Valve themselves about what projects they’re working on aside from the Index. With any luck, fans will be able to see something within the coming months.
The Valve Index is currently available for pre-order on the Steam store for the price of $999.00. What do you think the odds are that the developers are working on a Half-Life title for Valve’s upcoming VR headset? Are there any other titles you’d like to see make their way onto the platform?
