Google Stadia Preparing For A Massive Year In 2020
Game-streaming service Google Stadia didn’t quite get off to a great start when it officially launched last year. The technology showed quite a lot of promise but fell short when in terms of quality, with the graphical presentation, framerate, and exclusives falling short of what has been so easily obtainable on different platforms. Though Stadia has not had the best start, Google is preparing to grow its brand and reach a place that fans are comfortable with. This year, in particular, the company is looking to expand its horizons with a ton of new titles and even a few exclusive games for fans to enjoy.
A recent blog post in the official Stadia forums reveals that developers remain devoted to their “vision for the future of gaming,” and already have plans in the works for the rest of the year. Google explains that over 120 games have been lined up for the platform in the first half of 2020, with 10 of those titles being teased as exclusives. Sadly, the post wasn’t able to provide details on what fans can expect to see as an exclusive for the game-streaming service, though it did mention that the company hopes to share more information soon. In the meantime, several new features were also confirmed to be added to Stadia “over the next three months”:
- Support for 4k gaming on the Web
- Add further Assistant functionality when playing on the Web
- Support additional Android Phones
- Wireless gameplay on the Web through the Stadia controller
Google Stadia finds itself in a very unique situation. Where platforms such as the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 are limited by a variety of factors, Stadia might have the most potential to evolve and adapt as time goes on. With the promise of an insane number of titles coming to the platform, perhaps in time, it will grow to become a platform on par with the likes of Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony.
