Gods And Monsters Receives A Name Change Ahead Of Ubisoft Forward (VIDEO)
Ubisoft’s Gods and Monsters was revealed last year as an epic tale delving into Greek mythos and putting players in the role of a being called upon by the gods of Olympia when they need help. Players are set to do battle with various monsters within Greek mythology as they obtain godly powers and explore a vast open-world filled with puzzles and secrets to uncover. While the game was initially set to release early this year, it was delayed into next year and the title seems to be going through a bit of re-branding with a new title fitting for the adventure.
A recent Tweet has arrived from Ubisoft claiming that the name of Gods and Monsters has been changed to Immortals Fenyx Rising. Though, unfortunately, there was no mention as to why the change has occurred or if it will affect the game in any way. However, the tweet does mention that more information will be provided for fans during the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event set to be held on September 10th.

A recent trailer for the new Ubisoft Forward provides fans with a few quick glimpses of Immortals Fenyx Rising, showing off a similar art style, though taking a different approach to the painting-esque direction it had while under the “Gods and Monsters” name. It’ll be interesting to see just how the title has changed and how it hopes to separate itself from other open-world titles in the same vein.
Ubisoft Forward is scheduled to take place on September 10th at 12 p.m. PT (2 p.m. CT / 3 p.m. ET). Though Immortals Fenyx Rising is slated for the show, other established names are also set to be showcased such as titles from the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Tom Clancy series’.
