God Of War Devs Say “Thank You” With PS4 Freebies (VIDEO)
Following the release of God of War for the PlayStation 4, the epic Old Norse adventure has undoubtedly left an impression on those who’ve followed the game. From the game’s impressive artistic presentation, strong adherence to lore, to the assortment of glorious memes to spawn in its wake, it’s unmistakable how popular Kratos‘ latest award-winning quest has become in only a year’s time.
God of War developer Santa Monica Studio has surely appreciated the warm attention their work has received, and has now laid out a series of freebies as a way to give back to the fans. In time for the game’s one-year anniversary, PlayStation Blog has unveiled some nifty extras that will be freely available from the PlayStation Store; a special God of War dynamic theme, as well as an additional avatar set scheduled for release this Wednesday, April 17th.
In honor of you, our fans, we’re starting a week-long celebration of the one-year anniversary of this God of War. I’m very happy to indulge you with a small token of our appreciation. We’ve crafted a fantastic God of War Anniversary character PS4 avatar set that will be available free this Wednesday, and a PS4 dynamic theme available right now that will bring you back to serenity with Kratos and Atreus in the Lake of Nine. They’ll both be free at PlayStation Store (search God of War), whether you own the game or not.”
On top of those delicious freebies, God of War’s creative team was also one to directly share their love for fans in a new video. The footage pays tribute to the many players and community members the studio has encountered over the last year, mentioning the bevy of incredible responses in the form of artwork, fan videos, and a general outpour of good ol’ positivity. Adding to their heartfelt message, Santa Monica Studio concluded by saying,”Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing the new God of War and for helping Santa Monica Studio rise up to a new beginning as well. From our whole team to you, that has meant everything to us. Now, we have a long journey ahead.”
God of War is out now exclusively for PlayStation 4. The God of War Dynamic Theme is currently available via the PlayStation Store.
