God Of War 2 Release Date Rumors Addressed By Game Director

Sony has been on top of things in recent years regarding the PlayStation 4’s first party lineup. Triple-A titles like The Last of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and God of War are some of the massive star-studded games that helped set Sony’s console apart from the Xbox. As such, many gamers are hoping to see sequel iterations of these titles on the PlayStation 5. It looks like God of War 2 is at the very least going to take a while, though, according to the original title’s game director.

New rumors have come in from the PS5 subreddit, discord threads, and places like Game Rant that have suggested that a God of War 2 game for the PlayStation 5 is slated to be revealed soon. Unfortunately, this is decidedly not the case, with God of War game director Cory Barlog himself taking to Twitter to shoot down the rumors.

Suffice to say, it appears that a God of War 2 reveal won’t be happening for quite some time. For Barlog’s part, the game director said after releasing the first game that he would be taking a long, much-needed rest. Since there’s currently been no word on God of War 2 thus far, he could very well still be relaxing somewhere.

God of War is currently available on the PlayStation 4.
