Genshin Impact Reveals Hu Tao Release Date, Coming This Week

Following the buzz that surrounded Xiao, Hu Tao is the latest character to receive the spotlight. Coming later this week, she finally makes her debut in all her ghastly and fiery greatness. Yesterday, miHoYo and company published her character teaser — an adorable animated skit of Hu Tao’s mischievous personality. And now, the Genshin Impact has been blessed with news of an official release date.

Travelers will have a chance to wish for Hu Tao from March 2nd at 18:00 to March 16th at 14:59. Drop rates for four-star characters Chongyun, Xingqiu, and Xiangling will be boosted too. Check out the latest information in the gallery below:

At the same time, a brand new story quest titled “Papilio Charontis” will permanently unlock. Travelers who meet the prerequisites of an Adventure Rank of 40 or above and have completed Archon Quest Chapter I: Act II “Farewell, Archaic Lord” can use a story key to unlock Hu Tao’s story!

Katheryne of the Adventurer’s Guild will have daily investigative expeditions for “Vishaps and Where to Find Them,” where Travelers can earn a multitude of rewards including primogems, weapon enhancement materials, character experience material, and mora. There will be increased drop rates for the Staff of Homa and Wolf’s Gravestone for the event wish Epitome Invocation.

Curious about how the latest available characters work the battlefield in Genshin Impact? Hu Tao, Xinqiu, and Chongyun will be available in Test Run, where players can use a fixed lineup of characters and try out their abilities. Be warned, it might encourage you to spend your primogems.
