Genshin Impact 2.1 Trailer Reveals New Events, Upcoming Characters, And More (VIDEO)
Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has released the official trailer for the game’s upcoming Version 2.1 update. Released today alongside the Special Version 2.1 program, the trailer provides a glimpse at a few of the new story beats the Traveler will encounter during their time in the Inazuma region. The trailer also offers a sneak peek into some of the new events players can look forward to, while also confirming that the Raiden Shogun herself will be making her official debut as a playable character. Check out “Floating World Under the Moonlight” below:
First and foremost, the trailer confirms that Kujou Sara (4*), Sangonomiya Kokomi (5*), and the Raiden Shogun Baal (5*) will all be releasing at some point during Genshin Impact Version 2.1. The leaks have suggested that Raiden Shogun and Kujou Sara will be releasing immediately after the conclusion of the Yoimiya banner, which places Sangonomiya Kokomi’s banner at the tail end of Version 2.1. These characters are accompanied by Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy, who will be releasing for free for PlayStation console players starting in Version 2.1. More on that can be read right here.
The game’s upcoming Moonchase Festival is also revealed via the new trailer. Said festival brings with it a variety of food-based events that will hopefully satisfy the Traveler’s Emergency Food companion. Also shown is the Hyakunin Ikki free-for-all fighting tournament, which splits the player’s party into groups of two for a total of six different battles. Since that means 12 different units will be used, the event appears to reward those with a diverse leveled roster of characters. There’s also the introduction of fishing, which seems to be a hot subject nowadays.
Last but not least, the new Genshin Impact trailer showcases the new weapons releasing at various points during Version 2.1. These weapons are Engulfing Lightning (5* polearm), Everlasting Moonglow (5* Catalyst), The Catch (4* polearm), and Luxurious Sea-Lord (Claymore), the last of which is a literal fish. If slapping one’s enemies with a dead fish is an alluring prospect to you, well, you probably aren’t alone. We won’t judge.
Genshin Impact Version 2.1 is slated to release on September 1, 2021.
