Gears Of War Boss Leaving The Coalition To Oversee Diablo Franchise

Gears of War Boss Diablo

Rod Fergusson has been working on the Gears of War franchise for over 15 years, but it appears his time with the beloved series is coming to an end. However, with that chapter coming to a close, he has revealed what is next, and it’s related to another popular game series: Diablo.

The Gears of War boss recently took to Twitter to announce that he is leaving The Coalition and will be leaving the series in the studio’s hands. That said, he followed up with another tweet letting everyone know that he will be heading to Blizzard in March to oversee the Diablo franchise.

“Starting in March, I will join Blizzard to oversee the Diablo franchise,” the Gears of War boss said. “Leaving is bittersweet as I love our Gears family, the fans, and everyone at The Coalition and Xbox. Thank you, it has been an honor and a privilege to work with you all.”

The next Gears of War title arriving is Gears Tactics, which debuts on April 28th. As for what’s next in the popular Blizzard franchise, Diablo IV is currently in development without a specific release date.
