Full Venom Trailer Drops, First Look At Symbiote Costume Revealed (VIDEO)

Venom Trailer

One of Spider-Man‘s greatest foes Venom is finally getting his own solo film, and fans of the alien goo creature have been anticipating what exactly he’ll look like when the movie slithers into theaters. With a solid lead actor in Oscar-nominated Tom Hardy, fans have been willing to overlook its questionable continuity within the MCU to see a potential blockbuster on Sony’s hands. A previous look at the film gave plenty to see of Hardy’s human side, but in the new Venom trailer, we finally get to see the terrifying symbiote in action.

Based on the footage, we can expect Hardy’s character of Eddie Brock to retain his news reporter origins as he takes the investigative fight to the shady Life Foundation. We learn that their discovery of the Venom symbiote has led to numerous human tests, with likely fatal results. It isn’t long before Brock’s investigation finds him bonded to the symbiote and develop horrific tendril abilities, including an incredibly comic-accurate Venom costume. Check it out below.

Now that we have more of a concrete grasp of what we can expect, Venom is seeming to take plentiful influence from its comic book source material. Eddie’s desire to unleash the beast on “only bad people” seemingly confirms an adaptation of the Lethal Protector storyline, which sees the villain turn over a new leaf, albeit a very murderous one. We also hear Venom refer to itself and Eddie’s bonded state as “we,” a telling pronoun as the two merge into one being.

While much was revealed, there still seems to be plenty more teased for the final film, especially as Venom seems keen to become one of Marvel’s few R-rated movies. Whether it’ll be that way when it hits theaters is still up in the air (the film isn’t rated yet), but the adventure still seems to be an interesting and potential-filled superhero story nonetheless. Venom will hit theaters on October 5th.
