Fortnite’s Horde Bash Update Goes Live – New Heroes, Quests, and More! (VIDEO)

Fortnite's Horde Bash

Fortnite is making a name for itself as an early access title. Having just reached 7 million players, the future of the game looks bright. Reaching that number can certainly be attributed to the help of the Battle Royale mode that was released. However, the train doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon, as Fortnite‘s Horde Bash update has made it to the masses.

Being released today, October 5, Fortnite‘s Horde Bash update comes to the game’s PvE mode and includes Challenge the Horde, which will have players construct their own portable horde fort. They will have an unlimited amount of time to do this, but limited resources to build with. After construction is complete, up to three friends will tag along and hit the ground running. The longer one survives, the more resources and rewards he or she will obtain. Check out a bit of the action in the video below:

With the new update comes a new event llama. The Scavenger Llamas holds four new Heroes, nine weapons, two new Defenders. Earn the Scavenger currency by completing quests and playing the new Challenge The Horde mode. The Scavenger weapon set is delicate, but they’re all cheap to craft.”

Of course, you can’t have a new event and mode without new heroes. As stated above, four new characters are joining the fight. Raider Soldier will be for players who love getting up close and personal in combat, Ammo Harvest Outlander is for those who enjoy getting all of the ammo, Trap Specialist Constructor is great for damage and durability boosts, and the Energy Thief Ninja does exactly that, steals energy from melee combat.

In addition to everything above, Fortnite‘s Horde Bash update also includes more than 25 new progressions quests. Completing each of these will reward players with everything from Scavenger tickets to some sweet Legendary Items. The update is currently available on Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
