Fortnite Meteors Finally Come Crashing Down As Superheroes Are Teased

Fortnite Meteor

If there is one thing that Fortnite players have been preparing for over the past month, it’s that pesky comet that has been looming overhead. With Epic Games trolling fans, many have been speculating what exactly the giant space rock could be. Plenty of players have been waiting for it to come crashing down into Titled Towers, and while that remains a mystery, meteors have finally begun crashing into the island. Plus, it just might have something to do with superheroes.

Players have begun reporting meteors crashing down while in-game. Some have even captured the fireballs nearly taking them and their forts out. Check out the video below to see some of the glorious action:

As many of you may already know, Season 3 is finally drawing to a close. However, just a couple days ago, update 3.6 went live and brought a ton of goodies with it. While Epic outlined the bug fixes and new weapons with it, they failed to mention the impending event that apparently came with the update. You know, to keep some sort of mystery hidden away despite teasing the hell out of it.

Luckily, the above video isn’t the only evidence that has been captured. Fortnite Intel was able to find Redditor KaiserCrowz’s replay, which shows a meteor striking the ground in greater detail than the video above. It also appears that the falling rocks bring some destruction with them, so it might be wise to keep your head up while playing. Check it out below:

This leads us to the next piece evidence. While meteors are busy crashing down all around players, Epic Games has taken to Twitter to tease the upcoming season of content. From the image, we’re guessing that big comet in the sky has to do more with a superhero crashing into the island, and it’s not a rock at all. Either way, whatever falls into the ground will surely impact the surrounding environment. We’ll have to wait to find out if Tilted Towers is in fact the intended target. Here’s the teaser shared by Epic:
