Fire Emblem Heroes Now Available on Mobile Devices (VIDEO)
Get ready for tactical role-playing on the go. Nintendo’s Fire Emblem Heroes is now available on Android and Apple devices. Oh, yeah, and it’s totally free to play.
Fire Emblem Heroes stays true to the gameplay style of previous titles. Players will be able to move their heroes strategically, each turn to eventually wipe the battle map free of the opposing forces. Heroes will have new characters as well as characters from previous Fire Emblem games, such as Takumi from Fire Emblem Fates, Lucina and Robin from Awakening, and Lyn from The Blazing Blade. Heroes can be acquired with special Orbs. Orbs are earned through gameplay or can be purchased through microtransactions. Check out the trailer for the new title below:
This is Nintendo’s first free-to-play title for mobile. Super Mario Run charged players to advance and unlock more levels. Heroes is absolutely free, with the exception of the aforementioned microtransactions. The purchasing of Orbs is not required to unlock certain characters, but is an option for those that don’t want to wait to earn them. This will undoubtedly hold fans over until the release of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia in May.
Originally, Heroes was going to release on Android systems first because Apple users got to play Super Mario Run first. That has since changed and the next entry into the Fire Emblem series has been released on both platforms as of February 2, 2017. You can download the Android version here, or the Apple version here.
