If you happen to be an Android user, you were probably a little let down when the announcement of Nintendo’s Super Mario Run informed us that the mobile game was only coming to iPhone and iPad users. Pick your chins up because Android users will soon be able to join in the fun in the very near future.

Nintendo of America officially announced the port to Android via their Twitter account. The Super Mario themed mobile game will be available some time in March of this year, with no specific day yet announced. Fans of the mushroom eating plumber can pre-register through this link to be notified when the game becomes available for download.

Super Mario Run is an auto-runner style game developed by gaming giants Nintendo. Gameplay features the infamous Mario Mario as he automatically runs through a course. Players can make Mario jump over obstacles by tapping the screen. As quoted by the official game’s synopsis:

A new kind of Mario game that you can play with one hand.

In this game, Mario constantly moves forward through the courses while you use a variety of jumps to navigate. Mario will behave differently depending on the timing of your taps, so it’s up to you to show off particularly smooth moves, gather coins, and reach the goal.

Over 50 Million users have downloaded the game so far from the Apple Store. There have been some pretty mixed reviews concerning the title because even though the game is free, but players will only have three levels to run Mario through. For $9.99 the level count jumps from three to twenty-four. It’s safe to assume the price will remain the same on the Android version. The most common complaint among the negative reviews are that of the limited playability of the free version. If you look at the free version as a free demo rather than a free game, it should give you a different perspective and allow you to make the decision whether or not to fork over the 10 bucks for more levels. If you still aren’t sure if you’re ready for Super Mario Run, maybe this gameplay trailer will help:
