Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker Gets A New Trailer, Reaper Job Revealed (VIDEO)

Earlier this year Square Enix announced the brand new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, titled Endwalker. The latest expansion to the popular MMORPG will see the Warrior of Light and the other Scions struggling against the extinction-level event known as the Final Days, and it will mark the end of the overarching Tale of Gods Light and Dark. The folks over at Square Enix just dropped the new full-length trailer for Endwalker while also announcing the game’s second new job, Reaper.

During the festivities of the digital Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival event, Square Enix dropped the release date reveal trailer for the Endwalker expansion. The trailer kicks off by retreated some old ground as we see Alisae duking it out with some of the monsters that herald the Final Days before her brother and the Warrior of Light swoop in to provide support. Afterwards we are treated to a visit from some of the characters introduced during Heavensward, which then kicks into more story beats. We are also shown one of the regions of the moon called Mare Lamentorum, which looks stunning Check out the trailer below:

If that wasn’t exciting enough, Square Enix kicked things up a notch by revealing that Reaper is the second new job releasing in the Endwalker expansion. A more DPS-heavy riff off the Dark Knight, Reapers wield scythes in close-quarters combat and utilize some pretty spooky skills to get the job done.

According to game director Naoki Yoshida (who took to the stage wearing a full-blown Reaper outfit), unlocking the new job will require having a single job at level 70 or higher. From there, players need only visit Ul’dah in order to start the quest once Endwalker releases.

The new Final Fantasy XIV expansion will be releasing on November 23, 2021. A PS5 version of the game is also in Open Beta and will be releasing in full later this year.
