Family Guy Warcraft Themed Episode Airing This Week
With the holiday of April Fools Day coming up, one tends to see any number of strange stories come to light, all in the name of pranking. One that may sound like fake news at first glance is a crossover between the animated show Family Guy and the epic fantasy series of Warcraft, but this bizarre mash-up is surely the real deal. Fox announced the Family Guy Warcraft special on Twitter, featuring a promotional image for the upcoming April 1st episode.
Announced in the post, some “Warcraft magic” was teased for this Sunday’s next adventure titled “Veteran Guy”, as well as an obligatory Leeroy Jenkins reference. The image itself features Peter Griffin and Stewie Griffin as an orc and human paladin respectively, continuing the longstanding feud between the Horde and Alliance factions.

Not much is known about the episode outside the title “Veteran Guy,” but it’s likely going to spoof or at least include nods to the Warcraft series. There hasn’t been confirmation on what the episode will be about, but its official IMDB page provides even less hints as to how it could all tie together. The brief synopsis reads:
Peter and the guys get caught pretending to be military veterans and are sentenced to join the Coast Guard.”
How that premise could connect to Warcraft is anyone’s guess, especially with how random Family Guy can be. Perhaps the forcibly assigned Coast Guard duty isn’t as action-packed as Peter and the gang would expect, leading them to play a round of World of Warcraft instead. Azerothian references could also be restricted to an elaborate cutaway gag. We’ll find out when “Veteran Guy” premieres on April 1st.
