Fallout New Vegas Writer Wants to Work On Witcher, Overwatch

Fallout New Vegas Writer The Witcher Overwatch

There is no denying that Chris Avellone is one of the most well-known writers in gaming these days. With a resume that includes the likes of Fallout New Vegas, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, and even the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from Respawn Entertainment, it’s wonder that he has even more ambitions and franchises that he’d like to be a part of.

Speaking with Video Games Chronicle, Avellone spoke about his past works as well as what he would be interested in working on in the future. “In my career I’ve had the chance to work onFallout, World of Darkness, Dying Light 2, Planescape, System Shock… it’s been really, really good,” he said. “I feel like I’ve worked on – or am currently working on – all of the game series that I really enjoy or love.”

He then went on to say how he’d like to get in on CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher series. “The Witcher would be cool, now that I think about it… that would be very cool! I don’t know if there are any ambitions beyond that for me, other than The Witcher.” However, it turns out that there are, as he continued to mention how Overwatch would be a good one as well.

“Overwatch would be fun too,” Avellone said. “I worked with Michael Chu, their lead narrative designer, at Obsidian and I really like his writing. I really love writers who when I read their work I don’t have any comments. He’s a good writer and I love the characterization in that game. I’m a comic book nerd so seeing superheroes in a game environment warms my heart.”

With projects like Fallen Order and Dying Light 2 on the horizon, it would definitely be interesting to see if the Fallout New Vegas writer could, at the very least, find his way into the Overwatch writers’ room.
