Fallout 76 Team XP, Looting, & Bonus Details Revealed
Fallout 76 launches in under two months, and Bethesda continues to build the hype with new details. Players can expect much of what makes Fallout such a popular series—intense combat, bizarre mutant creatures, and nukes galore. However, the game’s multiplayer nature prompted plenty of questions about the leveling and looting systems. Both play key roles in any Bethesda title, but players expected change given the shift from single player. Thankfully, Bethesda dropped a ton of information on XP, loot, and more on Twitter.
On September 18, a tweet from the official Fallout Twitter sparked plenty of discussion among the community. The post, accompanied by a delightful GIF, explained that everyone gets rewarded for teamwork, but not necessarily equally.
#Fallout76 DYK: Teams!
⚔️Every team member who assists in killing an enemy (successfully lands a blow, shot, etc.) gets XP.
🏆The team member to land the fatal blow gets slightly more XP.

The tweet explained the XP system with perfect clarity, but left some confused concerning the looting system. Thankfully, Bethesda’s Pete Hines replied to some fan questions. Again, everyone receives rewards, but some trophies of war will be better than others.
corpses are looted individually. so everyone could get something different. if you kill a number of feral ghouls, each player might get loot from different corpses. one person can't take everything so that everyone else gets nothing. that'd suck

Of course, this wasn’t Hines’ first foray into answering Fallout 76 questions. On September 17, Hines explained the game’s sleeping mechanic and its potential bonuses.
maybe you want the bonuses you can get from sleeping and being rested
maybe you think your character is adorable and love to watch them sleep

Seems like standard Bethesda. Sleeping has been an optional part of standard Elder Scrolls and Fallout games for some time now. While multiplayer gave many fans pause, Bethesda seems committed to maintaining the Fallout model. The game’s massive size and familiar feel should offer years of content for aspiring Wasteland explorers. Hines himself declared that Fallout 76 will last “forever.” At this point, I’m inclined to believe him.
Fallout 76 comes out for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 14. Additionally, a beta should begin in October. And the most diehard fans can preorder a ‘Robot White’ Xbox One X bundle.
What say you, gamers? Do you like Fallout 76’s XP system? Would you prefer a “survival of the fittest” looting system? Will you nap the day away for the bonuses? Let us know in the comments, and follow DFTG on Facebook and Twitter for more gaming news!
