Fallout 76: Wastelanders Update To Add Human NPCs, New Questline, And More (VIDEO)
Fallout 76 had a bit of a troubled start upon its release, but over time has continued to show vast improvements for players to enjoy. One of the most troubling issues many fans had with the title was the decision to remove NPC characters from the experience, leaving the game feeling empty and lifeless with the exception of other human players. Soon, however, the multiplayer survival adventure will take on a drastic change, becoming even more like what fans have come to expect out of a classic Fallout title.
During Bethesda’s presentation at E3 this year, the developers explained that the first year of Fallout 76 was centered around finding and overcoming the dangers that surround Appalachia, bringing hope to the land once more in the process. As the game enters its second year, however, it will see human NPCs in the form of different factions such as settlers and bandits who are looking to reclaim their lost home. These new NPCs will have extensive dialogue options, full voice acting, and plenty of stories to tell players over the course of the brand new quest-line.
The new update is set to arrive sometime this Fall, though no definitive release date was mentioned in the presentation. In addition to the announcement of the Wastelanders update, the game will be free to play for all current platforms from June 10th to June 17th.
Fallout 76 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
