We can all picture the fear the Blair Witch movies made us feel when they were released in 1999, 2000 and the latest release in 2016. However, your nerves might need to start preparing themselves for the release of the newly announced Blair Witch game coming to Xbox in a just over 2 months. Reminiscent of the nerve-wracking adventures seen in the films, the trailer alone will put you at the edge of your seat:

We don’t know a whole lot about the game so far in regards to the storyline, but what we can surmise from the trailer is that a young boy has gone missing in 1996 in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. We follow a middle-aged man and his dog Bullet as they head into the forest to search for the missing child. As expected, the wilderness has more menacing plans in store for our protagonist and his brave companion. Xbox also released an official synopsis of the games, and the horrors await players in Blair Witch:

From the creative minds behind the critically acclaimed Layers of Fear, experience first-hand the toll that fear can take on the mind in an original story based on the legend of Blair Witch. The upcoming title is a first-person psychological horror game that studies your reactions to danger and stress. Your darkest fears will awaken on August 30, 2019.”
