WATCH: Eight New Dynasty Warriors 9 Gameplay Trailers Released
With only a couple more months between now and the release of the next Dynasty Warriors installment, fans are becoming more excited by the day. Anticipation will only continue to grow for the first open-world title in the franchise, as it promises to blend the what we already love about the series with new mechanics. The roster even continues to expand, especially now that Koei Tecmo has released eight new Dynasty Warriors 9 gameplay trailers showing off a plethora of goodies that are to come.
Highlighting some of the title’s playable characters, including Cheng Pu, Xix Xiangying, and Xiahou Dun, the batch of Dynasty Warriors 9 gameplay trailers also displays a bit of the narrative’s action that will be taking place. Strengths and weaknesses are shown off for the characters as well as the all around intensity that players can expect. Check all of this out for yourself in the videos below:
Dynasty Warriors 9 is expected to drop in Japan on February 8 for the PlayStation 4. However, when the title makes its way out west five days later on February 13, it loses the exclusivity and will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. For the first time in the series, the expansive land of China is shown on a single map with the introduction of an open world format for diverse progression through the game. The ‘one vs thousands’ exhilarating action of the Warriors series and the beloved characters from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms tale are carried over, but the freedom through an open world stage provides a brand new Warriors experience.
The map is displayed with beautiful graphics and features many different regions of China such as snow plains, jungles and deserts which reflect the passage of time and changing climate. Key cities and checkpoints, such as Luoyang and Hulao Gate, and landmarks such as the Yellow River and Mt. Song, are replicated, allowing for deeper immersion into the game world.”
