Dying Light 2 Confirmed For Next-Gen Consoles
The folks over at Techland are aiming to deliver an experience with Dying Light 2 that improves in almost every way imaginable compared to the original title, offering players a massive open-world, a complex story narrative, and a whole lot of replay value. Now that the next generation of consoles is nearly upon us, though, many have begun to wonder if Dying Light 2 will simply fall to the wayside once both the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett come out. Thankfully it appears that that won’t be the case, as it has been confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel will also be coming to next-gen consoles.
The news comes by way of chief technical officer Pawel Rohleder, who recently sat down with the folks over at Wccftech to discuss the game. Rohleder was surprisingly forward with his answer when asked if Dying Light 2 would be a good candidate to be a cross-generational game. “Techland always has an eye on the latest new toys,” Rohleder said. “To be more specific — yes, the plan since the beginning of production has been to make Dying Light 2 a cross-generation title.”
Thanks to Pawel Rohleder’s candid response, we now know that Dying Light 2 will be released not just for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but also for the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett. Unfortunately we still don’t have a release date for current-gen titles, though the confirmed window is Spring 2020.
Dying Light 2 will release in Spring 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
