Lin-Manual Miranda Has Joined the Ducktales Reboot Cast!

Ducktales Reboot

For a little nostalgia, Disney fans simply have to think back to the good old days, when cartoons of anthropomorphic animals stood out as the highlight of every child’s television watching experience (and adults, there’s no shame in admitting that). One such series that just about every Disney fan remembers watching was a little show called Ducktales, and the adventures of the inhabitants of a little city called Duckburg. Now that everyone has the Ducktales theme song stuck in their heads, it’s time to reveal that Disney has some big news for those who remember growing up watching these wacky adventures and singing that catchy theme song at the top of their lungs.

A recent announcement from Disney XD has revealed that Hamilton creator Lin-Manual Miranda has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Ducktales Reboot series and he’ll be voicing the mechanical armor-wearing hero Gizmoduck, or Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera as he goes by during the day.

This announcement came from Disney XD with a statement by Francisco Angones about the inclusion of a Latino superhero in this reboot. “Growing up as a Cuban-American comics enthusiast, I was always hungry for a Latino hero to call my own,” Angonges said in his statement, “In developing the new series, Matt and I leapt at the opportunity to adapt DuckTales’ marquee hero into a young scientist character with Latin-inspired roots.”

The Ducktales Reboot has already been picked up for a second season, although it hasn’t made it to television yet. Scrooge McDuck will be voiced by David Tennant, with Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan as his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, alongside Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, and Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack.
