Earthworm Jim 4 Trailer Leaves Fans Disappointed (VIDEO)

Earthworm Jim

Intellivision dropped a first look trailer for Earthworm Jim 4 yesterday and the results have fans shocked, and not in a good way. With over 50,000 views since the time of it’s release, it’s evident by the comments section that there aren’t many positive things to say about 30 seconds or so of minor gameplay. It starts with Earthworm Jim landing on a beach before Earthworm Jim begins running to and fro and dropping a few signature catchphrases the video leaves more questions than it answers.

Earthworm Jim 4 was initally announced in 2008 by Interplay Entertainment and was said to still be in development by mid 2011. It wasn’t until May 2019 that it was stated to be developed for the upcoming Intellivision Amico console by Interplay. The console itself was revealed in 2018 and set to be released in October 2020.

The caption for the video states that Earthworm Jim 4 was created by the reunited team that brought the original Earthworm Jim to life in 1994 which was a side scrolling platformer with hilarious quips and unique art style. The named character was known for sporting a robotic suit and using his head as a whip. The series was so successful that it released a TV show on the Kids WB in September of 1995 and lasted two seasons before the show ended a year later in December.

With all of the remakes, reboots and re-releases of 90’s media seeming to be a huge success, it’s hard to watch something fans grew up with more than miss the mark. One can only hope that there’s more than meets the eye in the case of Earthworm Jim 4 since so many have been waiting for it since hearing about it when it was first announced.
