The Awesome New Ducktales Voice Cast Sings the Original Theme (VIDEO)

Ducktales

Ducktales reboot is in the works at Disney. The show is slated for a summer 2017 release and will air on Disney XD. To get the nostalgia flowing through us, Disney has released a video of the new voice cast singing the classic Ducktales theme song. Check out the video below:

That’s right, you just saw the 10th Doctor, David Tennant in the video. He will be voicing Scrooge McDuck, the millionaire mallard. The rest of the cast is as follows:

  • Huey- Danny Pudi (Community)
  • Duey- Ben Schwartz (Parks and Rec)
  • Louie- Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live)
  • Launchpad McQuack- Beck Bennett (Saturday Night Live)
  • Mrs. Beakley- Toks Olagundoye (Castle)
  • Webby Vanderquack- Kate Micucci (Scrubs)

As you can see from the video the cast seems to love the upcoming reboot. The original series had a three year run from 1987 to 1990. The original voice of Launchpad McQuack, Terry McGovern, didn’t take the news of a fresh cast so well. In a Facebook post, McGovern said:

“I am heartsick. Bad news. This is not a life or death situation, but it feels like one. Disney is re-booting Ducktales. And, here’s the bad news for me and the rest of the original cast–they are RE-CASTING! A very sweet woman called me from their offices to impart this development just moments ago. It was considerate of them, but it was not what I wanted to hear. When she first introduced herself on the phone, that she was calling on behalf of Ducktales, I thought, WOW! THE BAND’S GETTING BACK TOGETHER! Alas, it’s going to be a new band. So…someone else will play Launchpad McQuack. I haven’t told Launchpad himself yet. He’s in the garage tinkering with the Thunderquack. I just don’t have the heart to tell him. But I will. Just don’t tell him until I do, OK? And thanks for your sympathy. I wish the new cast well.”
