New Overwatch Comic Available Featuring Doomfist and Widowmaker – A Look Inside Doomfist Masquerade
Familiar favourites of Blizzard’s hit FPS Overwatch are back and joined by the newly released anti-hero in the latest comic to be released called ‘Doomfist Masquerade.’ Reaper, Widowmaker, and Sombra all make an appearance after a failed attempt on Katya Volskaya’s life. With the tension heating up after the Uprising, the previous comic to detail the past of our favourite heroes, the comic sets up a freshly released from prison Doomfist with a seductive looking Widowmaker at a casino. Humans and Omnics both are headed towards a war that no one can stop – though from the comic and what we already know of the lore, that’s exactly what this team wants.
The progression of this short comic’s narrative takes a turn for the worst as the events laid a trap for the newest character – but he quickly shows the power behind his name ‘Doomfist’. Talon, the enemy of Overwatch, shows once more that they are not to be trifled with and that all is fair in love and hostile takeover. “We have a war to star,” and a war they definitely had. You can read the full Doomfist Masquerade comic right here.
One of the thrilling things about Blizzard’s FPS is that it is so much more than what meets the eye. With animated shorts, a long series of comics, and lore upon lore – the heroes players can choose to represent each have a story intricately inlaid with the surrounding characters. Blizzard loves to tease their fans with tid-bits of how each hero’s experience has been affected, or is intertwined, with one another. The introduction of one hero, Ana, as Pharah’s mother was one of many connections made inside this amazing world within Overwatch.
As Kaplan has promised, there is so much more yet to come with the history behind Overwatch. This could mean even more characters, animated shorts, comics, and tid-bits of info to keep us guessing.
