This week, Bethesda and id Software hosted a lengthy livestream event on Twitch, revealing a variety of DOOM-related news and updates to fans that had a chance to tune in. What better opportunity to give players a little something-something than the 26th anniversary celebration of the franchise? Straight from Bethesda, owners of the DOOM and DOOM 2 console port get a sweet new update that adds Final DOOM and Sigil for free. Check out the announcement below:

Coming soon to Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, Sigil is a mod created by John Romero that adds nine single-player and nine deathmatch level for both games. In addition to that, other add-ons include TnT Evilution and The Plutonia Experiment are available to download as well – an entire 32-level pack that was released as Final DOOM. Pretty sweet. Did we mention that it’s free?

Despite issues with the console ports for DOOM and DOOM 2 earlier this year, the good folks at id Software and Bethesda have gathered feedback to continuously improve the experience for console players. The ports have given both new and long-time fans a chance to play these classic shooters with a locked 60 frames per second and other modern gameplay options. Now, there are even more levels for demon-killing bloodshed!

There’s no official release date on the update yet, but stay tuned! It’ll go live very “soon.” What do you think about the sweet announcements from id Software?  Let us know what you think in the comments section below or start a conversation on Don’t Feed the Gamers Facebook page.
