With Microsoft recently having acquired Bethesda and its parent company ZeniMax, some interesting fallout (pun intended) was expected to occur given some of the more highly anticipated titles Bethesda has in development. Elsewhere, titles that have already been released by the Skyrim developer are also beginning to be affected, with Microsoft recently announcing that Doom Eternal will be making its way to Xbox Game Pass next month.

Microsoft took to its Xbox Wire website to reveal that Doom Eternal is headed to Xbox Game Pass for console next month.  “Doom Eternal has been called one of the best first-person shooters ever,” the post begins. “If you haven’t already experienced its unique brand of fast-paced, push-forward, first-person combat, now’s the time to blast your way into id Software’s critically acclaimed game coming to Xbox Game Pass on October 1 and Xbox Game Pass for PC later in 2020.”

As for when Doom Eternal will be added to Xbox Game Pass for PC, it’s currently anyone’s guess. The statement above says it’ll arrive “later in 2020,” with the same article stating the same thing following a description of the game. Still, even with some uncertainty, it’s nice to see that Microsoft is opening up the availability of some of Bethesda’s library of titles so quickly after the acquisition.

Doom Eternal is slated to release on Xbox Game Pass on October 1st, 2020, with the title coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC later this year.
