Larian Studios’ sandbox RPG Divinity Original Sin 2 is officially making the jump from PC to console, and it’s happening this year. The developer has announced that its crowdfunded title is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this August, with Bandai Namco publishing both versions of the port. Check out the official announcement trailer below for a sneak peek at what’s in store:
According to Bandai Namco, the console ports will feature “a user interface tailored for console play in both four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen co-op modes.” Extra features and content updates are scheduled for the ports in the weeks and months following the August release date. The title originally released for PC back in September 2017, featuring a colorful cast of characters for players to choose from. The playable characters are “Red Prince, a haughty but heroic lizard noble; Sebille, an elven assassin; Lohse, a possessed musician; Ifan ben-Mezd, a mercenary ex-soldier; Beast, a rebel-turned-pirate dwarf; and Fane, an undead member of the long-forgotten Eternal race.” Each character features their own deep backstories, personalities, and questlines.
Divinity Original Sin 2 is currently available for PC, with the PS4 and Xbox One versions arriving this August.
