Diablo III Darkening Of Tristram Event Celebrates Another Year With Nostalgia
Bringing back a popular Diablo III event from last year, Blizzard celebrates a total of 21 years of the franchise with “The Darkening of Tristram” event. In it, fans old and new can experience the original game’s style and paying homage to the legacy of Diablo many know and love. Relive the nostalgic early days of the original game by exploring old Tristram with new and improved loot, a limited time Adventure Mode, achievements and more.
This time, Blizzard asks adventurers to stop the cultists in Adventure Mode. Accessed through a slightly hidden portal, uncover clues that lead to Tristram’s past and “the terrifying darkness that took hold of the town so many years ago.” Following clues will also lead players into RetroVision for exploration of eerie cathedrals, and reunited with old enemies from Diablo restored within the glory of Diablo III‘s custom game engine.
Of course, what is a special event without some exclusive loot, activities, and achievements? By completing certain tasks, adventurers can earn event-exclusive content like transmogrifications, gear, effects, pets, portraits, and so much more. Regardless of participation last year, it will be fun to revisit the game or meet it for the very first time.
Diablo III‘s The Darkening of Tristram event begins January 1st, 2018 at midnight to kick off the new year just right. The event will only last until the end of the month, so make sure to do an appropriate amount of dungeon crawling and collecting while you can! What items are you looking to add to the collection?
