Fans of Destiny looking to expand their play options have a new project seeking to port the game to a tabletop very soon. The Sci-fi franchise has some devoted Dungeon Masters that have begun a project creating a campaign for Dungeons & Dragons. If you’re a digital gamer thinking of taking the leap to tabletop, this may be the gateway you’ve been looking for.

The Project is dubbed D&Destiny, seeking to make a tabletop RPG out of the shooter. This fanmade Destiny campaign is based on the latest system for Dungeon’s & Dragons, the 5th edition. The creators are building a rule set that includes unique mechanics and plenty of things from the game. They’re not complete yet, but project director “Kitty” had this to say in a recent email:

The game is functional, and, according to my 100-ish playtesters, loads of fun. It works, even if you have to decipher some stuff that was written at 3am while on my sixth cup of coffee to get it to work.”

So far the team has made a considerable amount of progress, building races, monsters, classes, combat systems and even mechanics for the Darkness and Light zones. Each class gets unique abilities with in-depth mechanics for players to check out. Here are some samples:

The team is hoping to get the project finished and out to fans as early as October but playtests may determine that some rewrites are necessary to balance the game. Autumn seems a safe bet, and safer still that fans could see this Destiny D&D game out by the end of the year at the latest.
