Destiny 2’s Halloween Season Won’t Be Seeing Festival Of The Lost This Year

Just like any other holiday this season, Halloween is one of the most highly anticipated ones of the year especially within the video games industry. For currently supported titles, there are events that reward players with Halloween themed loot, cosmetics, and “spooky” additions to make the game that much more enjoyable. This year, Bungie won’t be bringing back Festival of the Lost for Destiny 2’s Halloween season.

Destiny 2 Community Manager David “DeeJ” Dague made the unfortunate reveal when asked on Twitter by a player seen below. Though pressure comes with creating a sequel to a game, there’s a certain level of expectation that comes with the first year and the bar is pretty high.

For the past couple of years, Festival of the Lost gave Guardians themed missions in order to keep busy and maintain momentum of continuous content. This may not be a silver lining to most veteran players, but The Dawning will be the first event to come to the game. Destiny 2’s Halloween season has been cut short, but DeeJ reported that this time will be taken to focus on the launch and activation of the game.

Thankfully, this won’t be the last anyone will see of Festival of the Lost. Bungie anticipates holding the event again someday. What do you think of DeeJ surprise statement about this Halloween season for the sequel title? Are you disappointed that there won’t be Pumpkins and other themed tricks and treats?
