Destiny 2 Hides A Gigantic Pokemon Easter Egg And It’s Pretty Hard To Miss
When it comes to Easter eggs, players are always looking for a good find and it’s always a memorable treasure hunt when it’s least expected. While this isn’t the first to be found for Destiny 2, this has to be the first Pokemon Easter egg thus far, but the franchise is no stranger to these timeless pocket monsters. There was the legendary material called Ascendant Energy that looked an awful lot like a Cherish Ball. Unfortunately neat creatures cannot be captured with it. There were a lot of doors in the Cabal Fortresses that looked eerily familiar to that of a regular Poké Ball too.
Now it seems as though the very first and oddly gigantic Pokemon Easter egg was found. A Reddit user by the name of “scrocchi” found it hidden in Destiny 2’s latest Crucible map Distant Shore. Check out the image below to see the beautiful, distressed Poké Ball in all its timeworn glory below. Isn’t it beautiful?
It certainly is gigantic. Of course, to compliment the appearance of a Pokemon Easter egg such as this, why wouldn’t there be ensuing jokes to follow? Redditors have begun trailing jokes about Team Rocket and other sadly relevant jokes as a dig to the developer about recent updates and announcements for the game. Check it out for yourself here. With all the these Pokemon related Easter eggs within the history of Destiny, perhaps tBungie will reward players with a hilarious Team Rocket or related themed event.
Of course, once one hidden treasure is found, all the others must be hunted down as well. Hopefully this sets of a chain reaction to…catch ’em all.
