Razer and Bungie Partner Up to Bring Destiny 2 Peripherals
There has been a flood of news concerning the forthcoming shared world shooter Destiny 2, including the details of the game’s jump to Windows PC. Entering the realm of PC playability opens up a whole new world of possibilities, one of which is gaming accessories used to play. Razer, one of the biggest names in PC accessories, has announced that they are teaming up with Bungie to release a line of Destiny 2 peripherals.
In a press release, Razer announced the partnership with Bungie in celebration of the upcoming game’s launch later this year. The Destiny 2 themes will be applied to the DeathAdder Elite gaming mouse, Ornata Chroma mechanical gaming keyboard, and Goliathus Speed soft gaming mouse mat for PC users. Players across all platforms (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC) will be able to get a Destiny 2 themed ManO’War Tournament Edition gaming headset.
Jim McQuillan, Creative Director, Brand & Marketing at Bungie stated:
“We’re very excited to partner with Razer to create a line of premium gear that we know Destiny 2 players and action shooter fans will love. The team has come up with some cool ways to pair Destiny’s art and designs with Razer’s high-performance hardware, providing players with new ways to customize their Destiny 2 experience.”
Razer’s peripherals are set to release sometime in September of this year, which may be shortly before the release of the new game, although no set-in-stone date has been released for Destiny 2 or the Razer products. The PC gaming community has been wanting to join in the action of the incredibly successful franchise, so what better way to welcome them than making shiny new things to play the new title with.
Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO, expressed his thoughts on the newly formed partnership:
“This is one of the most anticipated games this year, with a community that’s been yearning for a PC release. Destiny’s innovation and depth is remarkable. We’re honored to be working with some of the world’s best developers to support the launch of the game on PC.”
