Destiny 2 Beta Feedback Results are in – “Almost Universally Positive”
There’s been a lot of hype surrounding the Bungie shared-world shooter Destiny 2. Fans of the first game in the franchise are eager for the sequel’s release, and those that are new to the franchise seem to be coming around to give the title a shot with its new changes. Bungie recently launched the first round of Beta testing for the game, giving players a chance to feel out the new title and a chance to provide some constructive criticism for the developers. The developers then take that criticism, analyze it, and implement some of it into the final release of the game. During Activision’s quarterly financial conference call, the company reported that the Destiny 2 Beta feedback for the console version was “almost universally positive.”
During the call, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg reported that the sequel to 2014’s Destiny has received more pre-orders than its predecessor. Likewise, the Beta test drew in more players than the first title. Hirshberg claims that the feedback was “almost universally positive” from players as well as members of the press. The positive Destiny 2 Beta feedback has the company having a “tremendous amount of confidence” in the upcoming title, according to the CEO.
Hirshberg also brought up the quality of the PC version of Destiny during the call. He believes that the addition of more localization languages and the title’s launch on Blizzard’s Battle.net will increase the game’s player base, and bring in more players from around the globe. Hirshberg also stated that, just as the first game, post-launch content will be “almost as important, if not as important as the main game.” To back up this statement, the Activision CEO claims that there a significant amount of developers on deck to continuously push out post-launch content to avoid any sort of Destiny 2 dry spells. You’ve got to keep the Guardians busy, and it looks as though that won’t be an issue.
Destiny 2 is slated to launch on September 6, 2017 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and on October 24, 2017 for PC. What do you think of the Destiny 2 Beta feedback results.
