With the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port rumors finally having been put to bed after months of back and forth, the internet has transitioned into its next rumor mill project: Demon’s Souls. Last year, developer Bluepoint Games – known for its work on numerous titles for Sony – confirmed that its next big project after Shadow of the Colossus was another remake, though no other details were revealed at that time.  Since then, former IGN editor Colin Moriarty suggested that an announcement for a game was imminent and that the “soul still burns” with it, once again adding fuel to the fire. Now, yet another report has surfaced suggesting that a Demon’s Souls remake is actually slated to release for the PlayStation 5.

Bluepoint Games studio president Marco Thrush recently opened up about the developer’s next big project. Regarding games for the PlayStation 5, Thrush admitted that “We’re working on a big one right now.” Unfortunately no other info was provided, with Thrush ending that particular line of questioning with “I’ll let you figure out the rest.” Thrush did pivot to a different topic, stating that the SSD for the PlayStation 5 “has me really excited. You don’t need to do gameplay hacks anymore to artificially slow players down — lock them behind doors, anything like that. Back in the cartridge days, games used to load instantly; we’re kind of going back to what consoles used to be.”

This certainly isn’t conclusive evidence suggesting that Demon’s Souls is coming to the PlayStation 5, though at this point I’d personally put some money down on it. Here’s hoping that it’s on the way in some format or another, whether it be for the PS4 or the PS5.
