After a near countless stream of rumors and leaks, Sony officially announced today that a Demon’s Souls Remake is now in development exclusively for the PlayStation 5. Revealed in the second half of today’s PlayStation 5 Game Reveal event, the title is now in development from JAPAN Studio and Bluepoint Games and is being built from the ground up for the next-gen console.

The Demon’s Souls Remake trailer kicks off with sweeping cinematics and some haunting music, as one would expect from the original Souls game. Towards the midpoint we get a bit heavier into the action, with the trailer showing off a slew of re-imagined enemies and bosses that are just begging to deliver the pain. Check out the trailer below:

“From JAPAN Studio and Bluepoint Games comes a remake of the PlayStation classic, Demon’s Souls,” the video’s description reads. “This remake invites players to experience the original brutal challenge, completely rebuilt from the ground up and masterfully enhanced with a new ‘Fractured Mode.'”

The description also reveals that the Demon’s Souls Remake will feature gorgeous shadow effects and ray tracing. The game will feature two graphics modes: one that focuses on fidelity, and another that focuses on frame rate.
