Deadly Premonition Creator SWERY Announces ‘The Good Life’ Mystery Cat RPG
It’s no secret that cats have taken over the internet in various methods and mediums including video games. It wasn’t long ago, in fact, that a feline dating simulator game was announced and now a cat-themed RPG is making its way. From the creator of Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die comes The Good Life — a mystery game where the player becomes protagonist Naomi. Naomi is a photographer from New York who arrives to a small and rural town in England dubbed the “happiest town in the world”. Soon, she discovers an unsolved phenomenon wherein all the inhabitants turn into cats at night and retain no memories of their transformation by morning.
Of course, the main character isn’t exempt from this transformation either since she’s within the boundaries of the town. After the sun sets, the player can explore “secret paths, rooftops, and attics” in Rainy Woods that are only accessible in cat form. It is up to you to collect clues and solve this mystery! If anyone knows Hidetaka “SWERY” Suehiro and his previous creations, they are far from bright and cheery. In fact, Deadly Premonition was a horror game while D4 was an episodic adventure comparable to the style that Telltale is known for. Yet, the creator believes in the game and what it can bring to the table:
This game will inherit the spirit of Deadly Premonition, my most representative work, but it will also feature a brand new style of gameplay. It’s a mystery game based on the framework of a ‘daily life RPG.’ I’m positive that the happiest town in the world and the most bizarre townspeople in the world will capture your heart and pull you deep into their world. Please support The Good Life and help us bring this game to life. I’m sure this game will make a lot of people happy! I love you all!!
In fact, it wasn’t the intention for The Good Life to become public until PAX West where he and his team planned to make an official announcement, but all is well because this up-and-coming title is receiving lots of attention. As one can tell, Suehiro is one happy camper with cats and pancakes galore.
Who is the leaker? Who broke my PR plan? Nevermind. It's ok at the end. Because everybody love #TheGoodLife #pancake pic.twitter.com/MZP2490yu8

Swery Reveals Gameplay Trailer for New Murder Mystery Cat RPG 'The Good Life' (VIDEO)
September 6, 2017 at 2:12 PM[…] The Good Life is about to be one hell of a ride. Based on the very first trailer revealed by Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro at a PAX West 2017 panel for his latest undertaking. Players get to assume the role of Naomi, a photographer from New York determined to repay her pile of debt. So what better place to begin than the “happiest town in the world”? Set in a small town in rural England called Rainy Woods, Naomi works odd jobs to sustain herself financially, but it becomes quite obvious that most of the money is spent on drowning out her sorrows with “drinKING” at the pub.
