Dead Island 2 Pre-Order Listing Surfaces On Microsoft Store

Dead Island 2 Pre-Order Listing Surfaces On Microsoft Store

Dead Island 2 has been the underdog of the gaming industry since its initial reveal a few years back, with the game’s revolving door of dev studios occasionally surfacing to let us know that the title is still being worked on. That said, given that it has in fact been a few years and it isn’t a Square Enix title, various news outlets – ourselves included – have begun to wonder, where the fuck is Dead Island 2? Thankfully this line of questioning may soon be at an end, as an honest to goodness pre-order listing for Dead Island 2 has been discovered on the Microsoft Store.

A new pre-order listing for Dead Island 2 was recently discovered over on the Microsoft Store, with the timing rather suspect given how close in proximity E3 2019 is. Up until now there hasn’t been any new info from either Sumo Digital or publisher THQ Nordic, so it seems fairly strange that a pre-order listing would pop up now, of all times. Unfortunately there isn’t really anything new to glean from it, either, as the listed release date is your typical December 31, 2019 placeholder. The listing can be seen below:

As previously mentioned, E3 2019 is just a short week away, so we very easily could be shown some new Dead Island 2 footage. That said, if Microsoft put up the listing by mistake, we could still be another year or so out from the game’s release, we just don’t know at this point. Here’s hoping, at the very least, that the game stays in Sumo Digital’s hands.

Dead Island 2 is now in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

So, thoughts on the pre-order listing? Do you think that any new footage for the game will be revealed at E3 2019?
