Dark Souls Fan-Made Film Explores The Fate Of The Chosen Undead (VIDEO)
Those that have played Dark Souls know that its lore, while not exactly spoon fed to players, is expertly crafted and plays a huge role in binding together the games within the popular Bandai Namco series. One fan has chosen to celebrate the very first Dark Souls game with a special short film that cinematically explores the fate of the Chosen Undead. Check out FATE, by YouTuber TheParryGod, below.
While many fans typically stick with a more touch and go vibe to their Dark Souls videos, TheParryGod instead went the cinematic route, expertly fulling footage from the game using third party capture tools to nab that perfect angle, while also inputting character voice lines at pivotal moments to create an impressive storytelling experience.
In addition to the impressive cinematography, the order in which TheParryGod chose to portray the events from the game is also similarly commendable. While a typical gamer would likely enter the Painted World of Ariamis immediately upon arriving within the particular room in Anor Londo, TheParryGod chose instead to have his character first obtain the Lordvessel before taking the plunge into the frigid world, a decision meant to keep the storytelling unbroken and evenly paced.
If one thing is certain, it is that the creator of the video absolutely loves Dark Souls, and I challenge anyone reading this to watch the video and not immediately have the desire to replay through the first game in the series again. The recently released Dark Souls Remastered certainly makes it easier than ever to do so.
Dark Souls Remastered is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
