Control: The Foundation Expansion Confirms Release Date (VIDEO)

Control remedy the foundation expansion dlc

With reality-warping titles such as Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Quantum Break under their belt, Remedy Entertainment delivered possibly their most definitive version of this concept yet with Control. Following a telekinetic protagonist Jesse Faden in her efforts to correct ripples in reality, the stunning title has become an undeniable hit and has even won a few notable industry awards in the process. Control is now set to continue the game’s trippy narrative in an upcoming new expansion called The Foundation.

As shown in a recent teaser posted to social media (H/T Prima Games), The Foundation is set to go live for Control later this month starting March 26th. Though much about the new story-based content is being kept under wraps, publisher 505 Games had previously teased players should “expect things to get weird” as the expansion will “delve into the history of the Oldest House” – the paranormal headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control. As per an official description:

At the request of the ever-mysterious Board, Jesse must explore what lies beneath the Bureau as she returns order to the Foundation and the Oldest House itself.”

The Foundation will be the first big expansion for Control, but it isn’t the first DLC made available for the game. A challenge-based mode called Expeditions released back in December as a free update, transporting players to different areas via a mysterious interdimensional jukebox. After this month’s DLC, another expansion called AWE is next set to arrive in mid-2020, which sends Jesse after some mysterious “Altered World Events,” seemingly teasing the likes of an Alan Wake crossover in the process.

Control is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Foundation releases March 26th.
