Control Will Receive 2 Expansions, Possible Alan Wake Crossover
Remedy has a bonafide hit on their hands with Control. The strange and fascinating sci-fi action game released to critical acclaim and is captivating players with its intriguing world and lore. While some players have yet to beat Control, many are already beginning to wonder when we’ll next see Jesse Faden and where the FBC goes after the game’s ending. Luckily, Remedy decided to provide players with a “Content Roadmap” of when they can expect new DLC for the game. Check it out below:
The first content released will be a Photo Mode, free to everyone who owns the game. Expeditions Mode will follow in December which Remedy says are end-game challenges that will test the mettle of the best Control players. After that the first of two story-based DLC packs will be released, called The Foundation. This expansion will take players on a new Journey that will focus on the titular Foundation in the Oldest House. This pack will be a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4, Remedy hasn’t commented on when the exclusivity period will end.
And finally, the AWE expansion will release sometime within the middle of next year. AWEs in Control are an acronym for “Altered World Events” which is a classification given by the Bureau for unnatural and reality-twisting occurrences. What’s even more interesting about this is the cover art for the expansion which depicts none other than Alan Wake shining his flashlight. It’s very likely that the incident in Bright Falls, where Alan Wake is set, was an AWE by the FBC’s standards. Perhaps Jesse will investigate the events of Alan Wake and perhaps meet its titular Author? We’ll have to find out later, Control is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
