Fans of Dark Souls may have been pleased to discover that publisher Bandai Namco has a similar title in the works, with a bit of a twist. While Code Vein is still a ways off from being released, a new trailer titled Code Vein Underworld shows off the beautifully designed game while revealing the dark tales underneath.

The new Code Vein trailer, dubbed “Underworld”, features a song by the band “Vamps” with the same title. Viewers are given a bit of story as we are treated to beautifully hand-drawn cinematics and gameplay that is reminiscent of Dark Souls with some Nier Automata thrown in. As featured in the Code Vein trailer above, there is plenty of hack and slash style gameplay to accompany an interesting yet dark story. Given the gameplay elements that are reminiscent of the Dark Souls series, it may be that Bandai Namco Studios is looking at distilling all the experience garnered from Dark Souls and infusing it into a more anime-esque title. If that is the case, this will be a must-have when it releases. In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it.  Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. While the Code Vein Underworld trailer doesn’t offer a release date, fans can expect it sometime next year. The latest title from Bandai Namco will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Keep up with Don’t Feed the Gamers as more information about Code Vein is released.
