It was announced in a press release that Cartoon Network will be bringing 13 new series this year. Some are returning series while other are brand new, including one called OK K.O! Lets Be Heroes, which is based upon an upcoming action brawler mobile game that also will be inspiration for a console game. Now one of the most interesting announcements is that Finn and Jake are returning in a new Adventure Time miniseries.

Adventure Time: Islands saw the duo travelling across the ocean with BMO and Susan Strong to uncover the mystery of Finn’s past.  They unlocked secrets, made new friends, and made their way to Founder’s Island where they met Minerva, Finn’s mother and discover what happened to the rest of humanity. This next Adventure Time miniseries will focus on Finn’s return to the kingdoms of Ooo and how it has changed while Finn and Jake were at sea. This will be the second miniseries within season eight of the show. Sadly, the series will only continue on for one more season as seen in a Twitter post by Kent Osborne last year stating that season nine would be the show’s last.

Along with the new Adventure Time miniseries this year are returning shows: We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls, Mighty Magiswords, Steven Universe, Teen Titans Go, and The Amazing World of Gumball. Steven Universe will be seeing a game coming to consoles this year as well The new series will include:

• Apple & Onion
  • Follows alongside Apple and Onion as they find their way in a “big city of sophisticated food”
• Craig of the Creek
  • Set in a utopia for kids, Craig and two friends find themselves in a world where kids rule in an untamed wilderness
• OK K.O! Let’s Be Heroes
  • Follows a boy as he tries to level up to become the best he can be in a universe of heroes and villains. There will also be action brawler console/ mobile games of the same name
• Ben 10
  • A reboot of the popular series of a boy who gains alien powers through a mysterious watch
• Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
  • Based upon the two movies of the same name by Sony Animations

There are quite a few new seasons of shows coming Cartoon Network’s way. They will appear sometime between now and 2018, but release dates have yet to be announced.
