Carrie Fisher Memorial Coming To New Elite Dangerous Update

Sadly, Carrie Fisher passed away on the morning of December 27. Elite Dangerous Players have since requested a tribute for Carrie Fisher and their wishes have officially been granted.

In light of this news, Star Wars: The Old Republic players followed up by paying homage to the wonderful actress. They demanded a statue of Princess Leia be placed in the game – this was shot down fairly quickly due to the time period of the game and how the character would not even be born yet. They have since gathered outside of house Organa to pay their tributes to the late actress, among other tributes. But it didn’t stop there. Marvel then announced they will pay tribute to her in their upcoming Star Wars comics.

Elite Dangerous Nimoy Station

Many Elite Dangerous fans were quick to jump on this too. Writing on the forums, players expressed their sadness at the news and their wish for a tribute, and Michael Brookes came in fairly quickly, announcing that they will be adding something to the game soon to honour Carrie Fisher.

Sad news indeed–a ‘Fisher’s Rest’ outpost will be added to the game in the 2.3 release.

Elite Dangerous has memorialized the great Leonard Nimoy in the past. In 2015, they added a Vulcan planet and a Leonard Nimoy Space Station to honour the late Star Trek actor.
