Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Includes YOLO Mode for Hardcore Gamers

With the release of the newest iteration of the Call of Duty (C.O.D.) franchise, fans across the globe are taking the fight from earth, and heading out to space in an out-of-this-world experience that has been in the making since last year. As always, Call of Duty comes stock-piled with weapons of all kind, a massive multiplayer experience, and even and opportunity to battle it out with Zombies in Spaceland. But there’s one thing that’s just a little different than your run of the mill copy of C.O.D., and it has everything to do with its newest modes of play that the Activision has included for gaming pleasure: Specialist Mode and the aptly named YOLO Mode.

YOLO Mode

Call of Duty has always been known for his varying modes of play, but with the addition of these newest versions, the game play has increased in difficulty to really give the players a more challenging approach to their warfare. Specialist Mode is unlocked when you complete the campaign, though it doesn’t matter on what difficulty level you are to earn the right to play this mode. With Speciality Mode, Activision has described it as “intensely realistic” and “not for the faint of heart”. Take a look at the list below to see exactly what changes come with it:

  • There are no health regenerations in this mode. You can only be healed with Nano Shots.
  • Helmets take permanent damage and are your only protection against headshots.
  • Nano Shots and Helmets both take up inventory space so plan your storage wisely.
  • Lean from behind cover mechanic will become your best friend, so master it quickly.
  • Any shots to your limbs will cause damage to your movement and your gun can be shot out of your hand.

This mode takes the traditional method of gaming and puts you in the shoes of real soldiers. You will have to be extremely careful and skilled to win the game in this mode, and any careless actions will cost you. Those looking for realism in their warfare, will definitely want to unlock this mode as soon as possible to take advantage of this mode.

Aside from Specialist Mode, Activision also released YOLO Mode for the players. This can only be unlocked once you complete the game on Specialist mode. The rules are the same in YOLO mode with one major caveat… you literally, only live once. There’s no respawning where you left off in the game. If you die, you die permanently and will have to start the game over entirely. There’s certainly no holds bar when it comes to this mode, so venture at your own risk if you wish to try and tackle the game on this difficulty.

YOLO Mode

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has been a long anticipated title for months now, and with the addition of these challenging modes, Activision has delivered on yet another addition to this franchise for gamers to enjoy. As we wait for the game to come out, Activision made sure to keep our interest high by releasing a humorous trailer starring Michael Phelps and comedian Danny McBride to drive the excitement beyond the stratosphere, proving that when it comes to the success of a new game, there’s no reason to hold back when sharing developer passion with the masses.
